    Imotaki (Hot pot with boiled taros)

    Imotaki is a typical local cuisine and people enjoy it over viewing the beautiful moon in autumn. Imotaki in Ozu, having 300-year history, traditionally is cooked with fried tofu, konnyaku, shiitake-mushroom, chicken and taro which is harvested here and has excellent quality.
    You will have a nice time having Imotaki on the riverbank of Hijikawa, viewing the lit up Ozu Castle as well. Please enjoy this local food under the moonlit sky with comfortable breeze.
    You can reserve for Imotaki at registered-restaurants in Ozu City (We have 8 entries for this year), also you can enjoy some specialties at any restaurant.

    Takahari Chochin (Paper lantern)

    (Designated as Prefectural traditional local product・Prefectural traditional handicraftsman )
    Takahari lanterns, which decorate the eaves of the houses at Festivals, or dedicated in the shrines, are designated as Prefectural traditional local product. And this is the only product that has been designated as this.
    Also, the master of Hirachi umbrella &lantern Shop is designated as Prefectural traditional handicraftsman.

    Fishery Products (ayu, kajika, river crab, fish cake, fish boild in soy sauce)

    Ayu, kajika and river crab are the supreme food fish caught in the clear stream of Hijikawa.
    Broiled ayu was an article of presentation to Tokugawa Shogunate at the period of the Feudal era.

    Forest Products (bamboo shoots, chestnuts, shiitake mushrooms)

    Bamboo shoots, chestnuts and shiitake mushrooms, which grow in rich nature, enjoy excellent evaluation both in taste and quality.
